Loic Remy's QPR career has come to an abrupt end, with the striker signing for Chelsea.
The striker had come close to a move to Liverpool earlier this summer, only for the deal to break down at the last minute.
QPR netted £10.5 million for his signature, with the French international swapping a possible relegation scrap for a title fight.
There will no be much uprooting for the forward, whose new side are also based in west London, and if there is a Premier League club fans will have been reluctant to see him go to, it's Chelsea.
Yet QPR fans rarely saw the best of Remy. He showed highlights of what he could do for five months before they were relegated, but did not feature in their promotion campaign from the Championship.
Instead he spent last season on loan at Newcastle, scoring 14 Premier League goals.
Even featuring this season for QPR, it only ever felt temporary, and the striker failed to net in his opening two games in the division for the club.
Here is a look a how fans reacted on Twitter to his departure...
Have a feeling Chelsea have bought Remy mostly to stop him going to a Prem rival #qpr— vicki brown (@BrownBread67) September 1, 2014
Newcastle paid 2 million to loan Remy for the season add that to 10.5 million shows a tidy little profit #QPR— Harvey Grant (@hbghoopster) September 1, 2014
Devastated that Remy has left , he would of been a brilliant player for us this season #QPR— luke moran (@luke_moran24) August 31, 2014
