Wigan Athletic have announced the signing of Brentford midfielder Adam Forshaw.

Wigan Athletic have completed the signing of last season's League One Player of the Year Adam Forshaw.

The attacking midfielder scored eight goals and set up another four last season, and he has now been pictured in a Wigan shirt after signing a four-year deal.

The 22-year-old is a former Everton trainee, and Latics manager Uwe Rosler revealed that he was the club's top target to replace Jordi Gomez.

Following the announcement of the deal, Rosler said, "Our patience has been rewarded and we have got a fantastic young player at the right age and the right price for Wigan Athletic."

Forshaw knows Callum McMananaman well from their time together at the Toffees and Rosler believes the new addition will settle straight into the Championship.

The fee for the player is unknown, but if he can replicate his form from last season in the second-tier, it will be money very well spent.
