Courtois has spent time on loan at Atletico Madrid, but is now Chelsea's number one goalkeeper.
Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has said he was happy to come back to the club after a lengthy loan spell in Spain with Atletico Madrid.
The Belgian told the official Chelsea website: "I’m pleased to be here. Chelsea wanted me to come back and I was prepared to play and work hard and that is what I am trying to do, to help the team to win games."
The 22-year-old seemed pretty settled at Atletico Madrid after a long loan spell in Spain, and it seemed pretty clear that he would only want to return to Chelsea if he were to be the number one goalkeeper. Three games have been played, and Courtois has been in goal for all three of them.
It fuelled a bit of speculation surrounding the future of Petr Cech after such a long spell as the club's number one, but as it stands it looks as if the 32-year-old is prepared to stay at Stamford Bridge and fight for his place.
There may come a time during the season when the two goalkeepers rotate at some point in the season when there are more games to be played, as Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will want to keep an open mind with two top quality goalkeepers at the club.
