Report - Luke Shaw hopes to make Manchester United debut against QPR

Shaw has yet to make a competitive first team appearance for his new club.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is hopeful of making his competitive debut against Queens Park Rangers after the international break according to the Guardian.

Shaw was signed for around £30 million this summer from Southampton but has yet to make his first appearance for United after picking up a hamstring injury prior to the season getting underway.

The 19-year-old could line up in the left wing-back role is manager Louis van Gaal persists with the system, as several players could be in line for a debut against Harry Rednapp's side on September 13.

Daley Blind is set to be officially confirmed as a Manchester United player before tonight's 11pm deadline, whilst Radamel Falcao is heading to Old Trafford on a loan deal.

Louis van Gaal said after their 0-0 draw with Burnley at the weekend that Marcos Rojo should be available following work permit problems that has prevented him from making his debut sooner following his signing from Sporting Lisbon.

Ashley Young may be the man to drop out of the United starting line-up to make way for Shaw who impressed during his time at Southampton, and during his solitary World Cup appearance for England against Costa Rica in their final group match in Brazil.
