AC Milan looking to sign Liverpool prospect - report

AC Milan are hoping to do a deal for Liverpool's Suso, according to reports.

AC Milan are hoping to sign Liverpool youngster Suso on loan with a view to a permanent transfer, according to reports in Italy.

The Spaniard has been identified as a potential target by the Serie A giants and they would like to secure him this summer with the view to capitalising on his contract situation at Anfield next year.

Suso has just 12 months remaining on his contract with Liverpool and Milan want to ensure that they are in the best position to sign him when his deal does expire.

They, therefore, want to give him a taste of life at the San Siro on a temporary basis, before trying to make his switch a permanent one.

Suso’s first-team chances at the Reds look limited, but he is still held in high regard and it was thought that he could break through in the future.

The 20-year-old has already made 14 appearances for the first-team after coming through the club’s youth-sytem and largely impressed during that time.

He also has caps at every youth age group for Spain, showing just how highly rated he is at domestic and international level.

However, with Liverpool’s progression rapid over recent seasons there are now a sizable amount of obstacles blocking Suso’s route to the first team and Milan are looking to take advantage.

The Reds have been particularly active this summer after returning to Champions League football last year and with the added squad depth that they have Suso is likely to be allowed to leave on loan.

Whether they will make further attempts to keep him remains to be seen, but the likes of Jordan Ibe, Raheem Sterling, Lazar Markovic and even Philippe Coutinho are young enough to be long-term prospects that can do a similar job to Suso.

The former Cadiz player spent last season out on loan at Alemeria, where he was a regular member of the first-team squad, and it seems he could be set for another departure from Anfield this time around.
