Transfer Clock: Under 1 day to go until the transfer deadline passes, here is the latest on the developing deals you need to know...
Manchester United have been linked with a shock move for Radamel Falcao - who is nearing a switch to Manchester City.
They report United have held initial talks with Falcao's agent Jorge Mendes, confirming: "Manchester United are also courting the player. MU leaders spoke with Jorge Mendes in recent hours."
A move for the striker would be led by the fact the Red Devils are close to sending Javier Hernandez on loan for the season to Real Madrid.
Manchester City are attempting to offload Alvaro Negredo, with the striker in talks with Valencia over a loan move.
Vidal still an option, Strootman alternative
Manchester United have not given up on signing Arturo Vidal, with the Guardian also reporting Louis van Gaal is weighing up a last minute bid.
Vidal featured for Juventus on Saturday night in their 1-0 win at Chievo, showing the Red Devils he has overcome his knee injury which caused him to miss much of pre-season.
The Telegraph meanwhile report that Roma's Kevin Strootman is an alternative, but United will not move for him now, instead planning on holding January talks with the Serie A side.
Ajax's Daley Blind is to seal a move to United early on Monday, after the Dutchman passed a medical in Manchester, with a £13.8 million fee agreed with Ajax, while Tom Cleverley is expected to move to Aston Villa.
Liverpool eye Victor Valdes
Valdes is a free agent after being released by Barcelona earlier this summer. Valdes, 32, is a three-time Champions League winner, and can be signed even after the transfer deadline due to being without a club.
He had been expected to sign for Monaco before injuring his knee back in March.
Alderweireld to Southampton?
Alderweireld, 25, signed for Atletico Madrid from Ajax a season ago but failed to establish himself as a first choice.
The deal involving the Belgian international is expected to be a loan switch rather than a permanent transfer.
QPR to sign Defoe?
QPR could be set to make a surprise move for Jermain Defoe, report The Guardian.
Former Spurs striker Defoe moved to FC Toronto earlier this year, but his future has been placed in doubt by the club sacking manager Ryan Nelsen.
Defoe would link up with Harry Redknapp, who he has worked under at Portsmouth and Tottenham.
