Spurs transfer news: Young defender tipped for £3m switch; Dawson move questioned

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur defender Zeki Fryers will reportedly join Crystal Palace for around £3million before Tuesday.

That is the claim of the Sunday People, with suggestions the former Manchester United defender has been told he is not part of Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.

Fryers has struggled for game-time at White Hart Lane and following the arrival of Ben Davies he is even less likely to feature in his regular left-back position, while central defensive reinforcements mean he probably will not feature there either.

Palace are said to be hoping to make a number of defensive additions prior to Monday’s transfer deadline.

In other news, Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone believes Michael Dawson is Tottenham Hotspur’s loss and the Tigers’ gain.

The defender swapped White Hart Lane for the KC Stadium this summer and in quotes published by the Daily Mail, Huddlestone said, “I was surprised Spurs let him go to be honest, because even last season he played near enough every game for them.

“Spurs’ loss is our gain.”
