Manchester United transfer news: Strootman latest; seven may leave by Tuesday

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

Recent reports have suggested that Manchester United have already begun discussions with Roma over the possible January transfer of Kevin Strootman.

The Netherlands international is a firm favourite of Louis van Gaal but a cruciate ligament injury robbed him of a World Cup place and he is currently continuing his recovery.

Daily Telegraph journalist Mark Ogden suggested on Saturday that United could now turn their attentions to Strootman and further reports have began to circulate suggesting a January move could be in the pipeline.

In other news, the Daily Star claims up to 11 players could be heading in or out of Old Trafford in the next 48 hours, with seven tipped for the exit.

Daley Blind appears very close to a move and the report claims his Holland teammate Nigel De Jong will follow him before Monday night’s deadline.

The report claims Tom Cleverley, Danny Welbeck, Shinji Kagawa, Anderson, Marouane Fellaini, Anders Lindegaard and Javier Hernandez are those who could be elsewhere by Tuesday.
