All the latest summer transfer news from La Liga...
Real Madrid may have already added goalkeeper Keylor Navas, midfielder Toni Kroos and playmaker James Rodriguez this summer, but the club have been linked with a whole host of centre forwards ever since the sale of Alvaro Morata to Juventus, with the likes of Edinson Cavani, Alvaro Negredo and more prominently, Falcao mentioned as potential transfer targets for Carlo Ancelotti's side.
Whilst rumours over Falcao continue to swirl, reports in Spain today suggest that the club have agreed a deal to take Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez on loan for the season. The Mexican is seemingly down the pecking order under Louis van Gaal, and an exit seemed inevitable - though Real Madrid looked unlikely.
Meanwhile, rumours earlier in the day suggested that Torino forward Alessio Cerci was on the verge of a move to Atletico Madrid, and now the La Liga champions have confirmed that the Italian international is poised to arrive pending a medical tomorrow. Sporting director Jose Luis Caminero has lauded the deal, saying that Cerci will add a lot to the Atletico attack.
"The agreement for a transfer for Cerci reached with Torino is a joy for everyone," said Caminero. "It was a clear objective to strengthen our squad for all the challenges that lie ahead this season. We’ve had to make a major effort [for Cerci] after all operations this summer but we are convinced it was worth it because we consider him a key piece of our team. He will provide assists, speed and goals and give our game more attacking alternatives."
Elsewhere, Valencia's summer of overhaul looks set to continue. The club have already snapped up the likes of Joao Cancelo, Lucas Orban, Nicolas Otamendi, Andre Gomes, Rodrigo de Paul and Rodrigo Moreno, but another midfielder appears to be on the way after reports tonight speculated that Valencia had ended their interest in Enzo Perez in order to snap up Inter Milan's Colombian international Fredy Guarin.
