Transfer Clock: Arsenal hijack £10.5m Chelsea deal as Cech nears exit

Loic Remy

The deadline is getting closer. Arsenal, Chelsea and QPR feature in a quick round-up of the latest transfer news.

Arsenal are ready to hijack Chelsea's interest in Loic Remy. Jose Mourinho is looking for a replacement after Fernando Torres was allowed to join AC Milan on loan for the next two seasons. Remy missed QPR's win against Sunderland on Saturday and Harry Redknapp confirmed that Chelsea had met the French internationals release clause.

However Arsenal are also struggling with a striker issue, as Remy's international team-mate Olivier Giroud has been ruled out until January.

Remy is available for £10.5 million and both teams have now activated that clause. Remy is set to make a decision over his next destination over the next couple of days, with one team set to be disappointed in their striker hunt.

Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be on the hunt for Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech. It is believed that Cech does not want to stay at the club if he is second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois, which, it is now clear, he is.

Cech, who has played in France before with Rennes, is being eyed up for a season long loan deal by the Ligue 1 champions - with a view to a permanent deal next summer.
