New Dying Light trailer explores natural movement

Techland offer up their first developer diary to explain the varied movement in their new zombie survival title, Dying Light.

Techland produced Dead Island, released back in 2011, and whilst it was an OK game, it was a little rough around the edges. However, with Techland's new zombie title, Dying Light, they pushed it back to an early 2015 release to give the game more polish - and polished it certainly looks in this new developer video.

In this, the first developer video released for Dying Light, the devs speak about the 'Natural Movement' players will use to explore and traverse the city that's been consumed by the undead.

The free-running aspect looks pretty smooth - climbing up onto rooftops, jumping across gaps, and balancing over wires between buildings.

The video highlights that there seems to always be a way of escaping the zombies, if you're skilled enough. Using the environment by climbing above groups of zombies, or jumping from a rooftop into a large garbage container below to break your fall - there seems to be plenty of options in terms of freedom of movement and getting yourself out of bad situations.

Dying Light is due for release in early 2015 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
