A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool

Liverpool are reportedly in talks with Danish side Brondby regarding a possible £3million move for defender Daniel Agger.

The Liverpool Echo claims the two clubs are locked in discussion regarding the potential switch, that would be something of a surprise given the relatively cheap fee.

Agger’s future has been in question since the arrival of Dejan Lovren and the fact that Mamadou Sakho now has a season behind him at Anfield.

And with Martin Skrtel also starting the Premier League campaign, Agger seemed the most likely defender to move on.

In other news, the Telegraph reports that Alex Song is set to complete a season-long loan from Barcelona to West Ham United.

The latest news comes after the Cameroon international was heavily linked with Liverpool, potentially as a replacement for Lucas Leiva.

But it seems the Reds will not move forward with any potential interest, paving the way for Song to head back to London.

And finally, Chronicle Live claims Sunderland expect a final decision on Fabio Borini’s much-touted transfer this weekend.

The Italian striker has been linked with a return to the Black Cats all summer, and the latest report claims a decision on a season-long loan could be made before Monday.
