West Ham United will look to build on last week's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace as they return to Upton Park against Southampton this afternoon.

The Hammers notched an impressive victory at Selhurst Park last week with goals from Mauro Zarate, Stewart Downing and Carlton Cole - all of whom retain their places in Sam Allardyce's starting XI, as £12m summer signing Enner Valencia continues to sit on the bench.

Opponents Southampton haven't quite hit top gear in the Premier League yet, losing 2-1 to Liverpool before a 0-0 draw with West Bromwich Albion at St. Mary's Stadium last weekend. A 2-0 win over Millwall in the Capital One Cup has boosted spirits, especially with Graziano Pelle notching his first goal for the Saints.

Both sides have top half aspirations this season, and a keenly contested affair awaits in East London.
