Fernando Torres is currently in Milan finalising a two-year loan switch from Chelsea to AC Milan. The misfiring striker has reportedly forced the move after effectively being made the club's third choice striker for the upcoming campaign.
But Jose Mourinho wanted to keep him. The Chelsea boss is a firm advocate for having three strikers in his squad, Diego Costa and Didier Drogba makes two.
With that in mind he is chasing potential avenues - however AS Roma slammed the door firmly shut on a move for Mattia Destro yesterday evening.
With that in mind it is being reported that Chelsea have instead turned their attentions to Loic Remy. The French international spent last season on loan at Newcastle United from QPR, but is believed to be on his way out of Loftus Road.
That would now appear to be the case, as he has been left out of the QPR squad for today's game with Sunderland.
Remy it seems is therefore on his way out of the club, with talks expected to get underway this weekend over a potential permanent switch to Stamford Bridge, as QPR do not want to loan him out again.
However, all eyes will be on his medical after he failed one at Liverpool in July.
