Here are five of the best players linked with joining Chelsea over the past week.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has done brilliant work in the transfer market to organise a world class squad of players ahead of a very long season.

The Blues have started the Premier League season well and have been handed a decent draw in the Champions League, which will mean the side has a great chance of progressing to the knock out rounds.

The club continue to be linked with additions in the transfer market and we’ve taken a look at five of the best players linked with Chelsea this past week.

Radamel Falcao (Monaco)

Falcao is one of the highest profile players linked with a move to Chelsea from the past week. Several clubs are thought to be toying with the idea of taking him on a season long loan deal but it’s unclear whether Chelsea would be prepared to pay a fee in excess of £10 million for the privilege.

Sami Khedira (Real Madrid)

The German midfielder has been linked with Chelsea throughout the summer. He’s admitted that anything is possible in relation to his future but whether the Blues can pull off a deal before the transfer deadline is doubtful. There’s also cause to argue they don’t need him due to Nemanja Matic.

Mattia Destro (Roma)

Destro has been tipped to join the club with Fernando Torres likely to head to AC Milan. Diego Costa is carrying a muscle injury so it’s important for the Blues to tie down some extra attacking cover as Didier Drogba won’t be able to play every single week.

Alvaro Arbeloa (Real Madrid)

The experienced 31-year-old defender reportedly maintains a good relationship with Jose Mourinho. He can play down either side of a defence so it’s easy to see why the Blues would be interested. However, reports from Spain suggest that he’ll stay with Real Madrid for at least one more season.

Adrien Rabiot (Paris Saint-Germain)

The PSG youngster has been strongly linked with moves to both Arsenal and the Blues. Chelsea boss Mourinho has made a very recent habit of investing heavily in younger players to seemingly safeguard the future development of his first team and Rabiot fits the bill.
