Here are some of the best players linked with joining Arsenal this past week.
There has been plenty of talk this week that Arsene Wenger will move for players late in the transfer window.
The Gunners could still arguably use a new centre forward and a holding midfielder and they showed last year that they don’t mind doing business as transfer deadline day draws near.
We’ve taken a look at five of the best players linked with the Gunners this past week.
Radamel Falcao (Monaco)
Falcao would be the ultimate striker addition for the Gunners. However, what appears to have put Wenger off of a move is the fact Monaco are demanding a huge fee for the Colombian just to sign him on loan for a single season. Wenger reportedly prefers to stick with what he has.
William Carvalho (Sporting Lisbon)
Carvalho is a player who has been linked with the Gunners throughout the summer. Sporting have reportedly dropped their price and if any side is going to sign him from the Premier League, it seems to be a straight fight between Arsenal and Manchester United, with United still apparently keen on Arturo Vidal.
Alex Song (Barcelona)
Song is periodically linked with a return to Arsenal because of his roots at the North London club. Arsenal’s need for a holding player makes him an obvious target but he’s another player Wenger has reportedly decided against bringing back to the club before Monday night.
Danny Welbeck (Manchester United)
Welbeck has been suggested as a possible addition up front. He’s reportedly been told he can leave Manchester United this summer and with Arsenal apparently needing firepower up front, they were instantly linked with him. However, Wenger is thought to be against a possible move.
Alessio Cerci (Torino)
Cerci is another player who has been tipped to come in and bolster Arsenal’s attack. Torino’s president has admitted that the player wants to leave and has suggested that anything can happen late on in the transfer window. AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are reported to be Arsenal’s competition.
