Leicester fans react on Twitter to Cambiasso signing

Leicester City fans took to Twitter on Thursday evening to express their delight at finally sealing a deal for ex-Inter Milan and Argentina midfielder Esteban Cambiasso.

After weeks of drawn out talks, Leicester City have finally completed the long-awaited signing of former Inter Milan midfielder Esteban Cambiasso, much to the relief of fans.

Cambiasso left Inter this summer after making 427 total appearances during his 10 seasons at the club, winning five Serie A titles, the Copa de Italia four times, and the Champions League and Club World Cup in 2010.

Having been linked to the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa last month, Leicester had been negotiating with the ex-Argentina international’s representatives for some time, with the deal looking to be on the verge of collapsing at one point.

Manager Nigel Pearson got his man in the end, however, with the 52-times capped World Cup veteran becoming the club’s sixth arrival of the summer after £8 million club record signing Leonardo Ulloa from Brighton & Hove Albion, and free transfers Ben Hamer, Mattew Upson, Jack Barmby and Marc Albrighton.

Signing a one-year contract at the King Power Stadium, the 34-year-old might not be the star performer who excelled at the top of the European game for several seasons but, as the following reactions show, supporters are still delighted to add a name of his stature to the squad.
