Tottenham latest, Saints still interested in Townsend, may move again for Schneiderlin

A selection of the latest news involving Tottenham Hotspur this Friday evening.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has admitted that Tottenham winger Andros Townsend is on his list of targets but doesn't seem too confident of securing his services.

When asked about Townsend, Koeman told reporters: "It's one of the players on our list, but it's very difficult and I don't expect good news about that. You can't say completely because this is football."

However, the London Evening Standard reports that Townsend's future at White Hart Lane is uncertain, especially given that Spurs are reportedly prepared to make one more attempt to sign Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton.

The Standard also reports they are still weighing up moves for QPR's Loic Remy and Manchester United's Danny Welbeck.

Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino has said they think that last season's 5-0 thrashing from Liverpool last season at White Hart Lane will have no effect on their game with the Reds on Sunday.

He said: "It is a new season, I think a different style, different philosophy. Liverpool invested a lot of money this summer and we went another way.

"We believe in our squad and add some players for the balance. Two different ways [of approaching things]."

The draw for the group stages of the Europa League has taken place today, and Spurs have been drawn in Group C alongside Besiktas - who were knocked out of the Champions League by Arsenal.

Partizan Belgrade from Serbia and Greek side Asteras Tripolis make up the other sides in the draw.
