Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Pochettino eyes Welbeck move as he watches striker personally

A round up of transfer stories about Tottenham Hotspur this morning.

Spurs are reportedly aiming to secure a loan move for Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck.

Welbeck has been linked with moves away from Old Trafford after failing to feature consistently in Louis van Gaal’s plans.

Opposition could come in the form of Arsenal, who have also been widely linked with a move for the forward.

The Mirror claims Pochettino is so intent on signing Welbeck that he watched him personally earlier this week.

Welbeck got a rare start in the 4-0 defeat to the MK Dons in the League Cup.

The paper also claims Welbeck has been told that he is free to leave Old Trafford before the end of the window.

Tottenham have reportedly been knocked back in their attempts to sign AC Milan star Mattia De Sciglio.

Spurs were thought to be open on the idea of a swap deal, which would see Roberto Soldado heading to Italy in an exchange.

Milan are thought to have rejected the deal because they don’t want to lose the highly rated 21-year-old.
