Tottenham Hotspur welcome AEL Limassol to White Hart Lane this evening, as they look to finish what they started in Cyprus against the minnows. After a tough Erik Lamela inspired 2-1 victory in the first leg, they will be hoping for a more relaxed fixture this evening.
The Cypriot club will not however have one of the goalscorers from last week to worry about. Roberto Soldado netted his first of the season last week to level proceedings but he has confirmed on Twitter he will not be featuring this evening.
Obviously, with the Transfer Deadline looming and Soldado being linked with an exit, conspiracy theorists would have had their way with this news had it of broke prior to kick off. So Soldado has already let us know why he is not available ... and it has nothing to do with an impending exit from Tottenham.
He posted this on Twitter earlier today...
Desafortunadamente no podré jugar hoy por problemas en mi espalda y mi cuello.Espero recuperarme lo antes posible y que ganemos esta noche!— Roberto Soldado (@R9Soldado) August 28, 2014
Which translates as...
"Unfortunately I can not play today because of problems with my back and my neck. Hope to recover as soon as possible and that we win tonight!"
Tottenham do however have Emmanuel Adebayor and Harry Kane available.
Will Spurs proceed without Soldado?
