Both QPR and Southampton could hijack a potential deal for Arsenal target Alessio Cerci, according to reports in Italy.
Cerci is an Italian international who scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists for his side last season, and is rumoured to cost in the region of £10-15 million.
The 27-year-old former Roma man is capable of playing up front or as a winger, and has two years remaining on his current contract.
With the player's agents in London there is every chance QPR could be holding discussions, while the Saints may also be sending representatives.
Southampton are in discussions to sell Gaston Ramirez, who never really found any level of consistency in the Premier League, and Cerci would certainly bolster their attacking options.
The same is true of QPR, yet to score in the Premier League this season, and who face losing Loic Remy in the final days of the transfer window, with Newcastle and Arsenal interested.
QPR beat off rumoured competition from Arsenal to sign Eduardo Vargas on loan from Napoli last week.
Would you be happy with the signing of Cerci?
