MK Dons' shirt sponsors have ran adverts outside of Old Trafford poking fun at Manchester United.
Manchester United’s humiliating week has continued after MK Dons’ shirt sponsors, Sondico, poked fun at them by running an embarrassing pair of adverts outside of Old Trafford.
The League One team, who dumped United out of the League Cup in a 4-0 win this week, had seemingly caused the Red Devils enough embarrassment for one week, but their sponsors wanted to rub the defeat in even more.
They ran an adverts, showing David Moyes’ face on it with the caption ‘bring back the Messiah’ and Benik Afobe celebrating a goal during the League Cup tie right outside of United’s home ground today.
It is sure to aggravated United’s supporters even more, after what has been a tough start to the season.
The joke stems from the club’s struggles under Moyes last campaign, where they finished in seventh position.
Things were expected to turn around this year, under the newly appointed Dutchman, Louis Van Gaal, but as of yet encouraging signs have been few and far between.
The Red Devils have lost to Swansea City and drawn with Sunderland in their opening two Premier League matches, whilst the defeat to MK Dons was arguably the lowest point the club have sunk to in living memory.
