Benoit Assou-Ekotto has confirmed he is back at Tottenham - a month after he was due to return.
Tottenham Hotspur have started the new season well, wins against West Ham and QPR in the league have been supplemented by success in the Europa League. Much of that is down to the improving performances of some of last year's nightmare operators.
Erik Lamela looks far better under Mauricio Pochettino, as does Nacer Chadli - while the early season form of Danny Rose has seen him earn an England call-up for their upcoming international friendlies.
His form, and the arrival of Ben Davies, certainly spells the end of Benoit Assou-Ekotto's career at Tottenham Hotspur. The Cameroonian spent last term on loan at Queens Park Rangers and is considered surplus to requirements by the club.
A controversial figure, due to view on football as employment, he has reportedly been told that he can find another club - with only a handful of Spurs fans likely to miss him if he goes, and the club hierarchy seemingly happier to say 'Bon Voyage'.
But he is now back at the club, as this Instagram picture with the caption ''Gym time...soon im back, Tottenham'' indicates.
He did not return to the club after World Cup duties with Cameroon, instead he trained alone in France - with little to no mention about him from the manager, he had become a forgotten footnote in the history of Tottenham Hotspur.
Now he is likely to be back in order for Spurs to try and engineer a move away for the player before the Transfer Window slams shut next week.
Finding a buyer for a notoriously difficult character however will be difficult.
