United have heightened their interest in Strømsgodset IF's 15-year-old wonderkid, Martin Odegaard.
The 15-year-old has been in sensational form for Strømsgodset IF in the Norweigen league and is already catching the eye of Europe’s top clubs.
The likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Liverpool have all been linked with the youngster this transfer window, but it seems United could be set to move first.
Odegaard made his first appearance for his nation in their friendly against the United Arab Emirates and became Norway’s youngest ever player, as a result.
The Red Devils scouts were there to watch that performance, as the club look to get a first-hand look at his talents.
Odegaard has already made 15 appearances in the top division in his homeland, scoring three times, and his natural ability has won many admirers.
He has an abundance of skill in posessesion, whilst his passing range has also caught the eye.
As such it hasn’t taken long for word to spread, with a Youtube video showcasing his skill going viral.
He has became his nation’s major hope for the future and there is now an expectation for him to become one of football’s world stars.
A move to United would certainly put him en route to achieving this, although he would be unlikely to receive the first team opportunities at Old Trafford he is currently.
United have a policy of bringing in some of the brightest talents around the world and Odegaard could be the latest man to join in their recruitment drive.
He would not come cheap, though, and he is already thought to be valued at around £12 million.
It means that it would be a big gamble, but it is one which pay dividends in the future if he continues on the trajectory he currently is and develops into the player that many are expecting him to be.
