The Manchester United boss was quizzed over further transfer activity following their British record signing.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed he expects more transfer activity at the club after he unveiled Angel Di Maria following his signing from Real Madrid.
United have been linked with big names for big money for much of the summer with Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, Sporting Lisbon's William Carvalho and Ajax defender Daley Blind amongst those linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Di Maria is United's fourth signing of the summer with Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera and Marcos Rojo all joining the club during the summer window as van Gaal looks to build a side that can break back into the Premier League's top four and secure Champions League football for next season.
But as part of the rebuilding job the Dutchman has on his hands at Old Trafford, he said that United should see players both come into and depart the club by Monday night's deadline.
"The club will [announce] when the time's there. Players will leave, others will come.
"I think we have to look at the future by restoring and rebuilding a new team and that costs time and I'm sorry to say that."
The comments will only fuel speculation about transfer activity at Old Trafford with forward Javier Hernandez amongst those strongly linked with a move away from the club.
