New Tottenham Hotspur defender Federico Fazio has said he's joined 'an amazing club' after he completed his move from Europa League winners Sevilla yesterday, in a deal that is believed to be worth around £8 million.
The 27-year-old signed a four-year deal and could be in line for his debut against Liverpool on Sunday lunchtime.
"England is a very good country and I choose Tottenham, an amazing club. This is the best for me.
“The Premier League is the best in the world. This is a new experience for me. I watch the Premier League on TV and I’m very happy to be here at Tottenham.”
The 21-year-old has made four first team appearances for Spurs, and has previously had loan spells at Brentford and Millwall.
Head Coach Maurcio Pochettino has hinted there may be more transfer business taking place at White Hart Lane before the transfer window shuts on Monday.
Sky Sports have picked up on quotes from the Daily Mail where the Spurs boss says: "We need to give balance to the squad.
"I don't talk about names, never. I always say not to expect a lot of movement, but it is possible that we add some players, yes."
Spurs are in Europa League action tonight at White Hart Lane against AEL Limassol. Pochettino's side are 2-1 up from the first leg but the Spurs boss has called for focus ahead of the game with the Cypriots.
He said: "It’s true we brought back a good result from the first leg but we need to win again.
"All games are different, and difficult. It’s important for us to follow our style and our system and try to win and not to think about the result in the first leg.
"So for me, it’s 0-0 and we need to try to win this game."
