Nobody tell Nicklas Bendtner, but he has a big fan in his new Wolfsburg teammate.
The famously super-confident Dane, who planned his next move to be either Real Madrid or Barcelona, was signed by the German side on a free transfer earlier this August.
New teammate Bas Dost, 25, has been commenting about his rival striker and believes he can take inspiration from the former Arsenal striker.
He told BILD: "He's a top guy. From such a player you can only learn. We talked a lot. He played at super-clubs."
Bendtner's CV certainly sounds impressive, scorer at international tournaments with Denmark, and part of Arsenal for years, not to mention a loan spell at Juventus.
Yet the reality is that a series of off-field misdemeanours eroded the trust placed in him by Arsene Wenger and he landed up on the scrapheap.
Bendtner had a poor start to life at Wolfsburg last week, tweeting on game day that he could not wait to feature, before failing to make the bench in their Bundesliga loss to Bayern Munich.
Dost, a former transfer target for Aston Villa, scored only four goals for Wolfsburg last season.
