Spurs have completed the signing of Sevilla defender Federico Fazio.
The north London side confirmed the capture of the Argentine centre-back on Wednesday, with Fazio signing a four-year deal at White Hart Lane.
The 27-year-old joins from Sevilla, with whom he made 194 appearances - winning the Europa League last season. Tottenham will likely relish that kind of experience in their attempts to win the trophy this term.
Fazio becomes Michael Dawson's direct replacement, after the Spurs captain was sold to Premier League rivals Hull City yesterday.
And the Argentine says he is happy to be in north London, considering the history behind Tottenham as a club.
"I’m really happy to be here at this club, this great club with very good players. I’m really happy to be here," he said.
"I come to Tottenham because I think it’s a very good team, a very good club, very good fans.
"I know Spurs is a historic club in this country & league. This is a great club & I’m very happy to be here."
Spurs host AEL Limassol in the Europa League on Thursday night, before taking on Liverpool at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Fazio could feature in the game against Brendan Rodgers' side - perhaps even from the start.
Will Fazio prove a good signing for Spurs?
