Manchester United latest: £15m man to leave on loan, Rooney set to be named England captain

The latest Manchester United transfer news and views.

Wilfried Zaha is set to rejoin Crystal Palace on loan, according to the Daily Mail.

The 21-year-old, who joined Manchester United from Palace in a £15 million move, has failed to make a single Premier League start during his time at Old Trafford so far.

He did, however, make several Premier League appearances during a loan spell at Cardiff City last term, although he soon fell out of favour under boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Zaha was an unused substitute during United's shock 4-0 defeat to Milton Keynes Dons in the Capital One Cup and now looks set to move back to his old club in south London.

Neil Warnock has been confirmed as Tony Pulis's replacement at Selhurst Park and the 65-year-old has worked with Zaha before.

Elsewhere, Man United skipper Wayne Rooney is favourite to be named England's new captain tomorrow.

Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson will announce at a press conference who he intends to make England's new skipper and Rooney is heavily expected to be given the honour.

Meanwhile, the odds of Louis van Gaal leaving Old Trafford have been slashed by some bookmakers from 66/1 to as little as 12/1 after yesterday's defeat to MK Dons.

United travel to Burnley in the Premier League for their next clash this Saturday lunchtime.
