PSG fans more upset to miss out on Manchester United's record addition
Boss Laurent Blanc said earlier this week, reported by SkySports: "PSG cannot do what we want in terms of recruitment. This is a difficult issue, the president has confirmed to me."
A poll on French website Le10Sport asked fans who they were most disappointed to miss out on this summer, and the new £59.7 million Manchester United addition came out on top.
43 per cent of fans polled responded to say di Maria was the club's big regret, more than Eden Hazard of Chelsea who the club were repeatedly linked with, 21 per cent voted for the Belgian.
The next big name on the list was French international Antoine Griezmann, with 13 per cent voting for the new Atletico Madrid star.
Other names to pick up minor portions of the vote were Paul Pogba, Mathieu Debuchy, Pedro, Wayne Rooney and Hugo Lloris.
Is it weighted on the fact di Maria was seen as more available than Hazard? Arguably, yet Griezmann did make a switch this summer and is more popular in France as a Les Bleus international.
United fans should be confident they have secured a player which has made Europe look at them with envy, now all they need is for the Argentine to start weaving his magic on the pitch.
