PHOTOS: Alexis Sanchez scores first goal for Arsenal

Gunners summer signing Alexis Sanchez opened his Arsenal account against Besiktas in the second leg of their Champions League qualifier.

After returning a hat-trick of goal-scoring opportunities and one assist from two Premier League games, former Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez, 25, scored in his third competitive game for Arsenal as the new Gunner struck the opening blow against Besiktas in the second leg of the third qualifying round for the Champions League at the Emirates Stadium earlier this evening, Wednesday.

Signed for £32 million earlier in the summer, the sole goal could end up earning Arsenal £32 million from participating in the tournament outright, gate receipts and revenue streams from television.

With the likelihood that primary striker Olivier Giroud could be sidelined through injury until 2015, Arsenal will be increasingly reliant on the three men who traditionally play behind the Frenchman - such as Theo Walcott, Mesut Ozil and Santiago Cazorla.

Chilean sensation Sanchez is no doubt one of those who can shoulder a part of the goal-scoring burden as he netted twice for his country from four outings in the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil.

Before that, Sanchez scored a commendable 19 goals and ten assists from 27 La Liga starts (an extra seven as a substitute).
