In Theo Walcott's last competitive match, a 2-0 FA Cup third round triumph over Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium, the Englishman incensed Spurs fans by signing the score with his fingers and hands as he was carried off of the pitch on a stretcher.
Almost nine months later and it appears the meme refuses to fade into internet oblivion as another Gunner, this time Benik Afobe who is on loan at MK Dons, has reignited the fad by signing 4-0 - the shock final score in last night's landmark second round League Cup tie for the Stadium:mk side as, unencumbered by the underdog tag, slayed the once mighty Manchester United.
Will Grigg opened the Buckinghamshire side's account in the 25th minute, as the Dons sprung a surprise lead, before Grigg doubled their lead in the 63rd minute.
Substitute Afobe also made a name for himself on the pitch as he came off the bench to score twice in the space of 14 minutes, earning MK Dons a stunning 4-0 result and progression into the third round of the competition.
