The Magpies are desperate to cash-in on the French international, but he remains intent on fighting for his place at St. James’ Park.

Sunderland are set to try and lure Geoff Cameron to the Stadium of Light, according to The Sentinel.
The Stoke City defender has lost his first team place at the Britannia Stadium and, although Mark Hughes is understood to want to keep him, the Black Cats are hoping to do a deal.
Lass Bangoura of interest to Newcastle
The Spanish media are linking Rayo Vallecano winger Lass Bangoura with a move to Tyneside.
Newcastle United are supposedly interested in signing the 22-year-old, who was not named in Rayo’s eighteen man squad at the weekend for their first La Liga match.
It is thought that he could be available for as little as £1 million this summer.
Poyet wants first win
Gus Poyet is hoping that Sunderland can get their first win of the season against Birmingham City tonight.
His side take on the Championship side in the League Cup tonight and Poyet is hoping that they can progress and pick up their maiden victory – after two draws so far.
"We've drawn two games so I want to win one," the Uruguayan told reporters. "I want to go to QPR [who Sunderland take on at the weekend] with a winning mentality."
Karanka wants more signings
Aitor Karanka may be confident of completing a deal for Chelsea’s Patrick Bamford, but he does not intend for that to be his last summer signing.
