Lineker sends message to Puncheon following Warnock appointment

Gary Lineker wished good luck to Crystal Palace, their new manager and one of their players on Wednesday.

Match of the Day host Gary Lineker has wished Crystal Palace player Jason Puncheon good luck after Neil Warnock was announced as the new permanent manager of the Eagles.

Lineker took to Twitter following the news to wish Warnock, Palace and Puncheon all good luck, but it was the latter that was the most interesting.

Puncheon - who excelled for the club under former manager Tony Pulis - was fined £15,000 by the Football Association and warned about his future conduct after he made comments on Twitter about Warnock.

Those comments reportedly came after Warnock criticised the player for a penalty miss in a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur back in January.

Lineker appeared to make reference to the incident in his tweet on Wednesday afternoon, wishing Puncheon luck as he prepares to work for the 65-year-old.

If Puncheon can replicate his form following Pulis's arrival last season, luck may be the last thing he needs.
