A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Wednesday evening.

Defender Federico Fazio could make his Tottenham debut against Liverpool on Sunday, according to the London Evening Standard after the club confirmed he joined Spurs this afternoon.

Fazio is said to have cost £8 million and should be available for the Premier League clash after Spurs agreed to meet the Europa League winners' release clause.

Club captain Michael Dawson departed the club for Hull City for £4 million yesterday and Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino is not rushing into a decision to appoint a new captain, with the Daily Mail reporting he will wait until the end of the transfer window.

Defender Younes Kaboul has captained the side in the Premier League whist goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has also worn the armband so far this season.

Pochettino said: "We will decide about the captain in the next few days. When the transfer window is closes. It is important that we have many leaders in the group. It has been Younes and Hugo and maybe Hugo tomorrow, or another player."

Napoli have ended their interest in Brazilian midfielder Sandro according to TalkSport. Sandro has been linked with a move to Italy going way back to last season but transfer fees and wages seem to be beyond the Serie A side's budget.

TalkSport have also picked up on quotes suggesting that Roberto Soldado still has a future at White Hart Lane, though he will tomorrow's Europa League play-off second leg against AEL Limassol.

Soldado has been linked with a move away from the club after a poor debut season in North London last season but the Spurs Head Coach is quoted, saying:

"He is here but I never talk about any rumours. I don't talk about the speculation.

"He is not in the squad because he has a problem with his neck and back. He is part of my plans for the future."
