A former target for Arsenal, Liverpool and even Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur have snared a star adept at defensive responsibility.
Accustomed to the left-hand side of central defence, Fazio has demonstrated that, in years of top-level football, he does not shirk away from a physical challenge.
Considering his height - 6ft, 5in - and weight, 14 stones and four pounds (roughly the size of a heavyweight boxer) it is perhaps no shock that he completed 77% of his aerial tussles last season (115/150).
Fazio also made 205 clearances, was infrequently dribbled past (15 times) and gave away, on average, one foul per appearance.
Guillem Balague noted the player's strengths on Twitter earlier today, Wednesday: "[He is] strong, has a good pass… [and is a] bargain."
Last year, Fazio may have only completed 77% of his pass attempts, but the Argentine completed an extraordinary 114 long balls.
He does, though, have one glaring flaw: "[Fazio is a] big slow."
Do you think Fazio's lack of pace will dent his ability to make an impact in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur?
