Manchester United fans have reacted angrily to their side's 4-0 defeat to MK Dons in the Capital One Cup last night.
The Red Devils were humiliated by their League One opponents and many United fans were left questioning whether the defeat was the most embarrassing of their life-times.
United had played a lot of a fringe players last night, but there were six full-internationals in their starting line-up and they should have cruised past a side from the third tier.
A result like this was hard to ever imagine under Sir Alex Ferguson, but the Red Devil's stock has fallen after a consistent slump and the dip is starting to turn into what is looking like a worrying slide, showing few signs of stopping.
United are yet to win this season, but this may be the lowest point in recent memory and if Louis Van Gaal had any doubts about the size of the task that awaits him at Old Trafford then they have been made clear now.
United fell behind in the first-half and didn't ever look like getting back into the match after. Two goals from Will Grigg and Benik Afobe provided MK with the most famous win in their history, and United supporters are hugely concerned about which direction this campaign is heading.
Confidence was high after a positive pre-season from the side, but this dismal opening to the campaign has meant that questions are already starting to be raised about the squad's quality.
Some much needed positivity was even created before the match started by the club's acquisition of Angel Di Maria, but the boost from his signing has already warn off slightly because of this defeat and Twitter was awash with concerned Red Devils after the humiliating defeat.
Here are some of the best tweets on the social media site reflecting on the game last night.
