Reported Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur target Adrien Rabiot has missed training with PSG, according to L'Equipe as sourced by Sport Witness.
The 19-year-old midfield star has become frustrated with the club’s policy of bringing in high-profile additions, which have blocked his route to the first-team, and he appears to be trying to force a move.
The French newspaper say that Rabiot skipped training on Monday, citing a missed flight as the reason for his absence.
If that seemed legitimate enough of an excuse, his actions since have been questionable. He turned up late to training on Tuesday and then claimed to have a sore foot to miss a group exercise earlier today.
PSG are understood to be determined not to relinquish the hottest prospect to come through at the club for some time, but his actions are forcing them to reconsider.
The club had original stood firm in their demands of wanting £24 million for the player – which had put off Arsenal from making a bid – but with his recent behavior it remains to be seen whether they will drop the price, as a result.
Of course, PSG will be under no pressure to sell as one of the most wealthy clubs in world football, but his actions are threatening to cause disharmony within the group.
Rabiot has only 12 months remaining on his contract at PSG and is apparently adamant that he will not extend his deal for any longer because of their lack of first-team promises.
Last season the central midfielder made 25 appearances for the Ligue 1 champions, but their continued lavish spending this summer has frustrated him as competition for places continues to increase.
It is thought that Arsene Wenger was prepared to allow his contract to run down before making a bid, but his opinion could change now.
Meanwhile, Spurs’s Mauricio Pochettino is said to be an admirer of the French youth international and, although it would require some midfield outgoings to bring him in, an offer could be submitted before the end of the month.
