New Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has welcomed the club's record signing Angel di Maria aboard.
The England international sent a message on Twitter indicating how he was feeling about the new addition.
Di Maria is exactly the sort of big signing Rooney will have had in mind when he famously threatened to leave the club in 2011, bemoaning a lack of activity in the transfer market.
United's business since then has been mixed, it's fair to say, but the £59.7 million addition of Di Maria is a potential game-changer for the Red Devils, who have endured a nightmare start to the Premier League season under new boss Louis van Gaal.
Rooney himself has been less than impressive, his only goal coming via a set piece, and struggled to impose himself in either fixture against Swansea or Sunderland as an attacking force from open play.
Di Maria's pace and ability to stretch play can help create space for Rooney, and his eye for a pass will surely help with his own goal tally too.
