Stats: Aguero now surpasses Henry, Suarez and van Nistelrooy for prolificacy

Samir Nasri & Sergio Aguero with Premier League Trophy

When it comes to minutes per goals, Manchester City superstar Sergio Aguero is besting a number of legendary strikers from clubs like Manchester United.

Could Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero end up eclipsing the legendary status set by Premier League greats such as former Arsenal captain Thierry Henry, one-time Manchester United penalty-box menace Ruud van Nistelrooy and merciless Liverpool attacker Luis Suarez?

The pint-sized Argentine may only have competed in English football for three full seasons but during that time he has firmly established himself as one of the most clinical and fruitful forwards in the whole sport.

City slayed Liverpool by a 3-1 score at the Etihad Stadium last night, Monday, with Aguero scoring in the 69th minute with what was, effectively, his first touches on the football.

This, after coming off the bench against Newcastle United at St James's Park to guarantee maximum points for Manuel Pellegrini's troops in the 90th minute last week.

It is an extraordinary statistic, but Aguero has only competed in 30 minutes worth of Premier League football, but he already has two goals to show for his work - an attacking efficiency of a goal scored every 15 minutes on average.

What is even more remarkable, is that, when it comes to minutes per goals statistics, Aguero has the best scoring rate in the entire history of the Premier League (providing a player has a minumum of 15 goals scored).

Suarez, for instance, has netted 69 times, which worked out as a goal scored every 139 minutes he was on the field.

United's poacher van Nistelrooy banked 95 strikes - one every 128 minutes.

Before Aguero, Henry was officially the most consistently ruthless goal-scorer as he busted the net every 122 minutes with 175 goals in total.

But Aguero?

Try a goal scored every 113 minutes on average, on for size. In total, he has struck 54 times.
