Former Arsenal midfielder Alex Song has been linked with a move back to the Premier League this summer, with Manchester United among the clubs reported to be interested in him.
Song left Arsenal for Barcelona in the summer of 2012, but has made fewer than 50 La Liga appearances in the past two years.
Signed as a player to boost the Spanish club’s defensive midfield, the Cameroon international has not really fit into their system and has reportedly been made available on loan this summer.
All that according to media reports, of course, but at the moment it seems that Song is happy to remain part of the Barcelona team.
The former Bastia star posted the following photo on Instagram with the message, ‘That family @danid2ois @neymarjr @adriano21c’, clearly exhibiting that he is at home among his Barcelona teammates.
Of course, Song’s future is not entirely in his own hands. If Barcelona coach Luis Enrique feels that the 26-year-old has nothing to offer to his team, then he could let the former Arsenal star leave.
