Pepe comments on Manchester United signing Angel di Maria

Real Madrid defender Pepe believes Real Madrid will move on despite selling Angel di Maria to Manchester United.

Manchester United's signing of Angel di Maria is one which will transform their side, but the club he departs are confident they will cope without him.

While Di Maria was instrumental in their Champions League Final victory, Real have strengthened significantly this summer and have a strong chance of repeating their success.

Portuguese defender Pepe believes Di Maria's absence will not negatively affect the team.

He told Spanish newspaper AS: "Di Maria has given a lot and we have to thank him for all he gave this team but other good players have come and will give everything for this club.

"James is doing very well and is contributing a lot. Kroos is also doing very well."

While Di Maria's 17 La Liga assists will be tough for any team to replace, by signing Toni Kroo and James Rodriguez, Madrid have the potential to be even better.

Kroos created a goal in Real's win over Cordoba last night, with an impressive 101 touches during the game as he dominated in midfield.

Had United followed through their earlier pursuit of the German, he very easily could have been playing alongside Angel di Maria at Old Trafford.
