New Mario Kart 8 DLC to bring F-Zero and Zelda content to the race

Mario Kart 8 The Legend of Zelda DLC 2

Nintendo's latest addition to the Mario Kart series is receiving new DLC in November, which includes new characters, vehicles, and courses.

Mario Kart 8 has been out on Nintendo's Wii U for a few months now, and it's receiving its first piece of DLC tomorrow, in the form of a Mercedes Benz themed pack.

Nintendo fans will be happy to hear that more DLC packs have been announced, which contain added Nintendo content.

Over on Nintendo's UK site there's a listing for the new DLC, the first of which is due in November, and the second is due in May 2015. The DLC adds a load of new characters and content, including Link from The Legend of Zelda, and the Villagar from Animal Crossing.

New tracks are also included from the worlds of Zelda and Animal Crossing, plus there's a Blue Falcon kart from the world of F-Zero.

If you buy both DLC packs you also get eight different coloured Yoshis and Shy Guys. Thanks, Kotaku.

The break-down of content as per the Nintendo website is below:

'Each Add On Content pack will contain two new cups, each with four courses, which, in total, increases the number of available courses by 50 percent. The Add On Content packs include classics like Wario’s Gold Mine from Mario Kart Wii, as well as new courses, some taking place in the worlds of The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. New vehicles will also arrive with each pack, including the Blue Falcon kart representing the F-Zero franchise in the first AOC pack.
