All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

Stevan Jovetic has been speaking following his two-goal haul for Manchester City against Liverpool.

The striker played an integral role in the Blues’ 3-1 victory on Monday evening and it is clear he wants to make up for lost time.

In quotes published by BT Sport, Jovetic said, “Now I have scored two but I am going to forget this because in five days we have another game against Stoke and it won’t be easy.

“This was a victory for the group, the team, and three points is the most important.”

Jovetic has stepped up in the absence of Alvaro Negredo and looks like he could be on for a very good season a year after arriving from Fiorentina.

In other news, Frank Lampard has announced his retirement from international football.

The City loanee has bowed out of England duty after 15 years and 106 caps.

And finally, Manuel Pellegrini has been speaking about when Eliaquim Mangala may finally make his bow for the club.

In quotes published by ESPN, the Chilean said, “We will see after the international break with Mangala. I think Stoke is too early for him.”
