La Liga transfer latest: Atletico 'present bid' for Arsenal and Liverpool-linked Shaqiri

All the latest summer transfer news from La Liga...

Atletico Madrid may have won La Liga last season, but that hasn't stopped manager Diego Simeone making a number of new signings. Jan Oblak, Miguel Moya, Guilherme Siqueira, Cristian Ansaldi, Jesus Gamez, Antoine Griezmann, Raul Jimenez and Mario Mandzukic have all arrived in the Spanish capital, but they could make another new signing.

According to AS, Atletico officials have travelled to Germany in order to present a bid to Bayern Munich for winger Xherdan Shaqiri. The positive relationship between the two clubs from the Mandzukic transfer could work in Atletico's favour, with the Swiss international desperate for first team football.

Sevilla have already lost left back Alberto Moreno to Liverpool, and now look set to lose another defender to the Premier League. Centre back Federico Fazio is all set for a move to Tottenham after Spurs sold captain Michael Dawson to Hull City, and Sevilla sporting director Monchi admitted that Mauricio Pochettino's men are set to pay Fazio's £8m release clause.

"It seems that Tottenham is willing to pay the [release] clause," said Monchi. "We are waiting to see the money in the Football League. We are not going to negotiate with anyone because our desire is to keep Fazio in Sevilla. Two months ago we talked about his renewal, but it was not possible. When an English team appears interested in one of our players it is difficult because they can multiply player salaries We tried to renew him since last season but the distances were huge even if we were hoping to make a new deal."

Meanwhile at Barcelona, most of the news surrounds contracts. New teenage sensation Munir El Haddadi burst onto the scene with a goal on his debut against Elche, but there are concerns over his future at the Camp Nou, with his contract having a €12m release clause - which could attract interest from other clubs.

However, one player who will be staying in Catalunya is midfielder Javier Mascherano, after the Argentine penned a new four-year contract extension - putting any lingering doubts over his future to bed.
