In major transfer news, Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid for a club record fee of £59.7 million.

The Argentine attacker Angel Di Maria arrived at Manchester United’s Carrington training ground on Tuesday ahead of his £59.7 million transfer from Real Madrid.

The 26-year-old Champions League winner is set to sign for a British record transfer fee on a deal thought to be worth £200,000 per week for Louis van Gaal’s Red Devils, making him the club’s second-highest earner behind No.10 Wayne Rooney.

Incidentally, the Manchester United superstore ran out of the letter ‘R’ as fans of the club rushed to buy replica shirts with the winger’s name on it.

Reports emerged earlier today that the club agreed a fee of around £60 million with Real Madrid and the Argentine international could make his debut for the club against Burnley this week.

Meanwhile, Colombia winger Juan Cuadrado failed to rule out a move to Old Trafford despite his club Fiorentina remaining adamant the attacker would remain with the Serie A outfit this summer.

“My future does not depend on me, there is still time until the market closes, no? I don't know,” he stated.

Ajax defender Daley Blind’s agent has stated there have been no offers for his client from United.

United legend Edwin van der Saar was spotted arriving at the club's training ground this afternoon, as reports suggest the former goalkeeper could be negotiating a deal on behalf of Ajax for the transfer of Daley Blind.

“At this moment Manchester United have not been in touch with me or Ajax about Daley and I’m not sitting here waiting for the call,” Rob Jansen told TalkSport.

Elsewhere, Napoli are no longer interested in Marouane Fellaini, according to reports that suggest the Belgian midfielder’s ankle injury could have been the cause of their turn to alternative targets.

Meanwhile, the Mirror claim a move to Old Trafford for Arturo Vidal could still be ‘on’ with reports suggesting United are willing to meet Juventus’ £34 million valuation of the Chilean midfielder.

In team news, Manchester United drew 1-1 with Sunderland on Sunday as Juan Mata’s goal was ‘cancelled out’ by a late goal from former Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell. The match also saw striker Robin van Persie return to the team for the first time this season.

Manchester United take on MK Dons this evening in the Capital One Cup. The game will be broadcast live on Sky Sports and kick off is 8pm local time.

The club’s website suggests a number of fringe players and youngsters could feature in Louis van Gaal’s team tonight. Jonny Evans is back available in the squad and youngsters Michael Keane, Tyler Blackett and Tom Thorpe could be included in the team.

Young striker James Wilson is expected to be deployed by the manager who will have the Red Devils' fixture against Burnley on Saturday in mind when he picks his side for the cup.

However, new defensive signing Marcos Rojo will not feature tonight, as he is ineligible due to on-going work permit problems.
