Tottenham Hotspur latest, Holtby linked with Hamburg, Dawson start of clear out

Lewis Holtby

A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Tuesday evening.

Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby is attracting the attentions of Hamburg according to a report from Goal.

The report suggests talks have taken place between the player and the Bundesliga side, as the future of former Spurs star Rafael van der Vaart looks all the more uncertain, leading to the club looking for alternative options.

The deal could end up being either a loan move or a permanent deal. Holtby's future at Tottenham was thrown into doubt last season when he was sent on loan to Fulham - but he did feature in the opening day win against West Ham United.

Hull City have confirmed the signing of Michael Dawson after a summer-long chase of the defender.

After Hull's draw with Stoke City on Sunday, manager Steve Bruce confirmed that deal was in place for the defender to join up with the Tigers.

Sky Sports is reporting that discussions are ongoing with Sevilla for defender Federico Fazio. TalkSport are reporting the defender has an £8 million buyout clause that Spurs are willing to meet.

The London Evening Standard also reports that a deal for Fazio is close, and that the transfer of Dawson to Hull is the start of Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino's clear out.

Vlad Chiriches is another player likely to leave the club along with Benoit Assou-Ekotto whilst Ryan Mason is expected to depart on loan.
