The long awaited seasons feature arrives this week with the implementation of patch 2.1.
Blizzard has announced the first season of Diablo III’s new ladder system is to commence on Friday 29h August,
“To ensure the roll-out process goes as smoothly as possible for all players, we're planning both a delayed and staggered release, with different gameplay regions launching the season at different times after patch 2.1.0 ships.” write Blizzard.
The start times for each region are below:
- Asia: 1:00 a.m. KST (UTC +9)
- Europe: 9:00 p.m CEST (UTC +2)
- Americas: 6:00 p.m. PDT (UTC -10)
To get involved you’ll need a free character slot to create your seasons hero, which can be played in either normal or hardcore.
“Seasonal heroes are completely separate from your existing ones.”the developers explained. “This means they start from scratch, without access to your existing gold, blood shards, shared stash, Paragon levels, Artisan levels, crafting patterns, or items. Just as your Normal and Hardcore mode heroes have separately tracked progression, Seasons stand entirely on their own.”
Taking part in the season offers up the chance to get new legendary items ahead of other players and a brand new armour set for transmogrification.
