Bungie confirms player to player item trades won't be in Destiny

Although you will be able to pass on items to other characters you’ve created.

Bungie has given the answer to the question of whether players in Destiny will be able to trade items and weapons with other players.

The official line from the developers is that player to player trades won’t be supported. When asked if players would be able to trade items in Destiny, Bungie replied with, "Nope. We want you to earn ‘em. You should be able to tell a badass story for every sweet jewel in your arsenal. Once you earn them, the various Guardians under your account will be able to trade them, but weapons belong to the players who acquire them through action and bravery."

Bungie also put to bed rumours that a new sub-class would be coming when Destiny launches. saying, "You have yet to maximize your first sub-class. We have yet to even let you try a second one. Ask us again once you have mastered the six classes that you'll have access to in Destiny, and we'll show what we learned while we watched you do it."

Development for Destiny is on course for its release on 9th September with the game recently confirmed to have gone gold.

You’ll be able to play Bungie’s ambitious new FPS on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
