Manchester City and Liverpool both enjoyed winning starts to their Premier League seasons but face a huge challenge this evening.
City strolled to a 2-0 win away at Newcastle United, looking in great form as they stare at the huge challenge of how they’re going to defend their Premier League title.
They played well against their main rivals at home last season and the trick will be to repeat that form over the course of this season.
Liverpool will still be riding on a high after beating Southampton.
They have added the unpredictable but exciting talent of Mario Balotelli to the squad but it’s doubtful whether Brendan Rodgers will make many changes until his team hits a rough patch of form.
The Reds are naturally motivated by trying to go one better than second place last season and it was of course Manchester City who beat them to the title.
